This year, “the Menu” will return for its Fifth Season  Local, Fresh and Delicious!

 “the Menu,” hosted in the Grand Ballroom, features culinary creations prepared by local chefs throughout NEPA.  Many interesting and exciting topics will be covered like what to buy at the farmer’s market; tips for Holiday meals made easy or planning the perfect cocktail and cheese pairing for your next party!

“the Menu” will provide you with fresh and exciting ideas to try in your kitchen any night of the week as well as festive concepts for special occasions!  Come see what’s on “the Menu” – it’s certain to be local, fresh and most importantly…DELICIOUS!

Live from its Grand Ballroom, the Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple is proud to present the Soul Shakers Winter Blues Guitarmageddon II on Friday, February 17 at 7:30 p.m.!  From straight ahead blues to ripping funk to R&B, the Soul Shakers Rhythm Section has served as back up for some of the best players in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Sharon O’Connell (drums) and Bill Coleman (bass) have carefully blended their individual styles with Eric Brody (keyboard), and evolved into one of the region’s best rhythm sections, having performed with most of NEPA’s blues icons.

Matilda Wormwood is only five years old, but she is a genius, often escaping in a world of books. Unfortunately, her parents are too stupid to even notice. Worse than that, her school’s horrible headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, is a bully who makes life difficult for everyone she meets.   Matilda befriends Miss Honey, her school teacher.  She soon realizes Matilda’s unusual talents, but winds up amazed upon discovering the full extent of Matilda’s powers.

Musical Theatre Revue!

Performers in Grades 4-12 will have a blast performing musical numbers from hit Broadway shows such as Matilda, School of Rock, Hercules, RENT, Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors and SO much more! During each rehearsal, students will work with talented teaching artists who will coach them through exciting scenes, songs, and choreography! Our final performance will be a presentation of everything our students have learned in a fun, cabaret-style musical production! All experience levels are encouraged to participate!

FREE Musical Theatre Workshop: Friday, February 24 from 5:00pm-7:00pm

Rehearsal Schedule: Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:00-8:30pm

PERFORMANCES: Monday, May 13 at 2pm and 8pm in Shopland Hall at the SCC!
